Awoke to a beautiful day. The tide was low and the ocean was calm.
Perfect day to continue our exploration of the Olympic National Rain Forest. Arrived at the ranger station in about 1 hour and 15 minute drive, then continued on to the Pony Bridge trailhead. Soon it became a dirt road with lots of potholes. Then the road narrowed to one lane. Very uncomfortable ride and scary.
This was a 5.4 mile round trip hike through the rain forest to the Pony Bridge pack-in campground. We met a lot of hikers headed for the campground on the trail. Here, Barbara and Mike are crossing Graves Creek on a log across the water.
On the road back we saw two herds of elk cross the road in front of us. I was ready with my camera for the second herd but only got one decent photo.
